Fighting Falls is an evidence-based instructor course that teaches you how to deliver safe, fun, and effective movement sessions for older adults using modified martial arts techniques.
You’ll learn how to screen participants, structure low-impact classes, and deliver programs that improve balance, coordination, confidence, and social connection, all while supporting national falls prevention initiatives.
Built on research and years of practical experience, the Fighting Falls program uses stances, strikes, patterns and drills from martial arts, adapted for low-impact delivery.

Faq's
Not at all. The basic stances, strikes and blocks in this course, once practised by the coach or trainer, should be easy to deliver to clients.
The course is approximately 1 day of work, with about 7.5 hours of video. It’s split into short modules to make it easy. Reading material is also available.
Absolutely, it’s self-paced; you can continue any time you want. Simply log back in. You have 12 months of access from when you pay.
The assessment consists of short quizzes after each module.
There is a basic video assessment at the end of the course, where you upload footage of yourself demonstrating the basic techniques.
Once you pass, you can download the certificate of completion.
